[ Baby blue on light greeny-blue is probably a poor choice, right?]

[ She screws her face up at that streaking remark, setting the dress back on the rack. ]

[ But before she can continue looking herself, Steve has found the dress in an alternate shade and...she hates being difficult. ]

[ Yellow is Jacks signature colour, and being considered an extension of Jack for so long meant it had to be her colour too, regardless of her feelings. Wearing it makes her feel some kind of way, like she's branded.

[ As Steve senses Angel's hesitation, he glances slowly between the little yellow dress and the little green nymph. ]

You sure? You're allowed to hate a color. [ Very tentatively, he folds it over his arm. ] For me, it's orange. Traffic cone orange-orange.

[ He intends for the maybe pile to get much bigger, anyway, as sooner rather than later he's holding up something else for her inspection, with no comment other than a cheeky smirk.

[ Quick to placate, wipe any discomfort from her face or body language. She's lucky enough to be getting the help, she has no right to be too picky.

She busies herself with browsing through the rack again before he's holding up another dress. And this one- this one

White with lace in a delicate floral design. It's almost a little too on the nose, but it has Angel's eyes lighting up. ]

[ Nothing about his expression says he's against playing up a theme.

In fact, if he looked smug before, he looks even smugger now upon seeing her reaction. Just for an even better idea of how well both sets of flowers are going to look in tandem, he takes a step closer, holding the hanger level with her collarbones. ]

[ Whoops! A little too close for her comfort, causing her to unconsciously takes a step back. That doesn't stop her from smiling though, even with him being so smug. ]

[ She reaches out, gingerly taking the dress from Steve by the hanger. ]

Sorry, I don't think you'll be getting your fashion show if I try this one on first.

Then again, you'd still need shoes to match, and... a hair accessory? Some girls like to coordinate those.

[ Buttering people up is just another one of Angel's many skills, though at least she's using it for good here and not to y'know...lead people to their doom.

But man, she hadn't even though of shoes! So her compliment is still pretty genuine, Steve knows what he's doing. ]

I'm a little worried you could twist an ankle, so I'm gonna say no heels just yet... Unless you're dying to try them, then maybe- [ He holds his fingers just barely apart. ] this much heel.

[ He's totally right, Angel hasn't worn a pair of heels once in her life let alone tried to walk in them. If he hadn't brought it up, she would have said something, but the fact that he doesn't believe she can nags at the most stubborn parts of her. Dares her to rise to the challenge despite what's sensible.

She turns, dress in hand, and immediately heads towards the large sign hanging from the ceiling that reads "women's shoes" ]

How do you know I didn't spend all my time indoors practicing how to walk in stilettos?

[ Steve chirrups, eyebrows raised but nonetheless looking willing to consider the possibility. As they approach the shoe display, artfully arranged on platforms against the wall, he finds the tallest pair in sight, glancing between them and Angel. Can he see any trepidation in her eyes? ]

If that's what you guys do, it would explain a lot. Always thought these things looked like they'd require a training montage.

[ Yes, that was a collective 'you guys' referring to all girls, sorry. ]

[ She definitely raises an eyebrow at "you guys" but only one eyebrow is visible with her hair style, so the gesture is kinda lost. "You guys."

But...uh oh, he is calling her bluff, and she is physically incapable of being a sensible, self assured person who knows their limits and can voice them in spite of earlier claims.

So she just reaches her hand out, indicating that she would like the shoes please, she is totally going to put them on and walk in them and be fine. ]
